Grand Opening for Gardens Of The World
Thousand Oaks Theme Park Now Open to Public
The 4.5-acre theme garden opened on December 9, 2001. The massive construction site across from the Thousand Oaks City Hall and Civic Arts Plaza hosted a private VIP dedication then opened the estate-like gates to the public.
It includes Japanese, French and California mission gardens, a bandstand where local groups can perform, a grassy amphitheater for concerts and picnics, and a quarter-mile fitness trail.
The Hogan Family Foundation, which is building the center, hopes that along with providing the community with a unique and entertaining facility it will also promote the travel industry and foreign cultures.
